Patients who live outside the UK plan their treatment at the Smalț clinic in Marylebone around a set number of trips to London: an implant needs 2 trips, ceramic veneers one trip of 5 to 7 working days. The written plan states the number of trips and days, and every treatment document is yours to keep, so your dentist at home can take over the check-ups. Smalț also has clinics in Bucharest and Dubai, with their own price lists, if one of them is closer to you.

How a trip is planned

Send an X-ray
A recent panoramic X-ray, no older than 12 months, sent by email, allows a first estimate of the treatment and the number of trips.

Book the diagnosis
The diagnosis with a 3D CT scan, for £395, is done on the first day of the first trip. The final plan is written only after it.
- 03
Receive the plan
The written plan arrives within 48 hours, with the stages, days and full price. If you agree, treatment can start on the same trip.
- 04
Leave with your documents
At the end you receive the treatment report, the CT scan and the details of the work, so your dentist at home can do the check-ups.

Accommodation and getting here
Smalț does not arrange accommodation and does not include it in any price. On request, the front desk sends a list of hotels and apartments within 15 minutes of the clinic. The Marylebone clinic is a short walk from Paddington, where the Heathrow Express and the Elizabeth line arrive from Heathrow Airport in 15 to 30 minutes. Check the UK entry rules for your nationality before you book, as many visitors now need an Electronic Travel Authorisation.
Is dental treatment abroad safe?
The safety of dental treatment abroad depends on the same things as at home: a registered dentist, a written plan and documents that follow you. In the UK, every dentist's registration can be checked in the public register of the General Dental Council (gdc-uk.org). The real risk of treatment abroad is the follow-up, so every Smalț plan states who does the check-ups and where.

How many trips do I need for dental implants in London?
A dental implant usually needs 2 trips: about 5 days for the diagnosis and implant placement, then about 4 days for the crown, 3 to 6 months later. If a bone graft is needed, the second trip moves later.
